We Present Cy Pres Award of $7,121
to Minnesota Legal Services Coalition
The Barry Law Office, Ltd. presented the non-profit Minnesota
Legal Services Coalition (MLSC) with a Cy Pres award of $7,121,
representing undistributed funds from a class action called
Remely v. Credit Protection Association. The
previously-settled class action alleged that more than 26,000
Minnesota residents received deceptive collections for late fees
on rental movies and cable television charges. Founded in 1981, MLSC is an
association of seven Minnesota regional legal services programs
formed to support regional programs that help
low-income Minnesotans with a broad range of civil legal matters.
